Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

All Devon Local Authority (LA) maintained schools have the same duties with regards to special educational needs and disabilities, and are expected to provide support for children who have additional needs. Pupils with Special Educational Needs are supported by the LA to ensure that they make the best possible progress in school. All schools are supported to be as inclusive as possible, with the needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities being met in a mainstream setting wherever possible.

Your main point of contact at school should always be your child’s class teacher if you think your child may have Special Educational Needs. The class teacher will be able to discuss your concerns.  If you need to speak with other staff members, such as the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo) or the Head of School, then the class teacher will be able to help you to arrange this.

We are currently in a Managed Partnership with Devon Moors Federation who are providing support in all aspects of school life.

Our SENCo is Phil Parsons, who can be contacted via email –
