Message for parents

SCHOOL CLOSED

Provision for Pupils of Key Workers only (children highlighted in the government key workers document) from Friday 27th March and during the Easter holidays will be at Shute Primary School – 01297 33348 or email admin@kilmingtonprimary.org.uk

The government are advising that, “If it is at all possible for children to be at home they should be”.  Using the school as a care provider should be the last option and only if you cannot keep your child safe at home.  The aim of closing schools is to minimise social interaction and to stop the spread of the virus.

PE & Sport Premium

What is the Sports Premium?

The Government provides substantial primary school sport funding.   This funding is being jointly provided by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport, and will see money going directly to primary schools to spend on improving the quality of sport and PE for all their children.

The sport funding can only be spent on school sport and PE provision.

Purpose of funding

Schools will have to spend the sport funding on improving their provision of PE and sport, but they will have the freedom to choose how they do this.

Possible uses for the funding include:

  • hiring specialist PE teachers or qualified sports coaches to work alongside primary teachers when teaching PE
  • new or additional Change4Life sport clubs
  • paying for professional development opportunities in PE/sport
  • providing cover to release primary teachers for professional development in PE/sport
  • running sport competitions, or increasing participation in the school games
  • buying quality assured professional development modules or materials for PE/sport

Gold Award School Games

We have again achieved the Gold Award for school games.   This is a fabulous achievement for a small village school.

We are so proud to be able to nurture children with the enthusiasm for an active lifestyle.
